My Apologies

Hey friends ~ At my daughter's school using their computers so that I can update you.

I wanted to apologize for my absence again.  Our computer finally crashed last Friday night.  A big blue screen appeared and I couldn't do anything.  Something to do with our Windows and hard drive.

Anyway, a long story short, it went into the shop to retrieve all our data and we had to get a new computer. They are transferring hopefully everything that I asked them to (crossing my fingers).  We should have the computer back on Friday or Saturday and then I can get back to normal posting.
Thanks for your patience and will talk to you all soon.

Happy Holidays!

Did you know that it is only 73 days til Santa comes??  Most of my friends want to shoot me when I tell them that.  LOL  I am getting some more Christmas cards done though since I have lots I want to send out.  I decided to take a night off and create a card.  Good thing, I needed the whole night.  With interruptions, and struggling to put it together, at least I completed the card.

Here is a side view closeup. Can you see the shimmer on the snowflakes??
And the snow (even on the birdie's head).

The stamps are from M's.  Colored with my markers.  The silver trim on the edge is the new Silver Glass Glitter from Stampin' Up!  Very shiny stuff:)

Well that's it for now.  I'm exhausted and feel like I need to lie down.  Maybe for a bit and then into my sewing room.  Couple more projects to share with you still from the quilt shoppe and I'm going to keep on with Christmas cards.
Have a great night

TGIF!!!

Yeah, it's Friday.  This week went really fast for me, but I love Fridays.  The beginning of the weekend. I plan to get tons done this weekend since the weather isn't going to stay sunny.  Rain means head to the craft room :)

I have been busy sewing again (or still).  I was asked to make some projects for the quilt shoppe's new store opening in early November.  Remember my favorite "textured" pattern the Hibiscus tote?  Well here is another version that Tina helped pick the fabrics for.  I love the oriental feel of this fabric and the shimmer on these pieces is beautiful.

The side view with beads and ribbon drawstring.

The inside view:

The fabric is much richer in person but here is a close up of the fabrics used. Check out the shimmer.

This are on display at Linda's Quilt Shoppe now and then will be moved to the new location when it opens. And there is a SALE on this weekend while the bosses are away.

Thanks for stopping by.  I need to get on my Christmas cards now.  I made my list up last night and I have a long way to go.  Hopefully this weekend I can get a ton done in between my projects.

Enjoy your weekend

My First Sketch Challenge

I have been wanting to try a sketch challenge in like forever.  My girlfriend has been telling me to just do it.  Well, I finally did.
This is for the Verve World Card Making Day Release challenge AND Challenge #59 Create a nature card over at Stampin' Sisters in Christ.  I know, two in one. And it was a challenge since I have been looking for my mojo for a while now LOL AND needing a guy card.  But I did it and I'm proud of myself.  Although, I didn't use a Verve stamp because I have very little, I love this card.

And this is a closeup of the crystal effects on the water and this little guys' eye. The DSP is DCVW.

Looks real huh.  I used Stampin' Up! cardstock and the new folder that I love is called Textured Impressions.
I enjoyed this challenge and may have to try and do some more.

Thanks for stopping by.

Sandy Grams

I wanted to share a unique gift idea.  They are called Sandy Grams.  I found Lynda on Facebook and decided to give it a try. I bought two of them.  I will show you one for now since the other is a gift and I can't post it until they receive it.

Isn't this cool?  I can print it to any size I like and frame it.  I am going to do an altered frame and hang it in my studio and I'm going to do one for Shaelyn's room.  I just love it!

A unique, one of a kind gift from California:).  You just send Lynda an email/message with your message you want written in the sand.  After her long trip to the beach writing messages in the sand all day, Lynda will send it to you via email.  You print how many and what ever size you want.  So easy peasy.

Think wedding gifts, birthday, grads - there's no limit.

Here is her link and when you stop by, let her know you saw my Sandy Gram.  Would love to see what messages you come up with in the sand....................

Thanks for stopping by today

Good Morning

Yes it has been a while.  I honestly didn't mean to be away this long, at all for that matter.  Life just got in the way with sick kids, me sick and just everyday events that kept me away.

I will be posting some more projects for you right away but just wanted to stop by and let you know that I am still here.

Off to get the pictures loaded and posted.

Enjoy your day and hope that it is still warm wherever you are.
