Thanks Notecards and TNT

BRRRRR!!! It is freezing outside. Blowing wind from the north and it's supposed to last a couple of days.  Not even getting in the pluses this week.  Yuck - I am sooo ready for the spring.  This winter is dragging too long.

Today I will show you a couple more thank you notecards I did.  I used Old Olive and Lovely Lilac. The punch is an old one from SU but has always been a favorite of mine. I added some stickles to the flourish on the butterfly too.  Really simple huh?

This is one of my favorites.  I love this quilt stamp set from SU!. I even colored it to match the colors I am using on my quilt now.  Chocolate chip background and the kiwi green are really close.  The orange I used on  my quilt is more burnt orange than this and same with the turquoise I used is much deeper and richer than this color.
Once I get caught up on my quilt squares I will share them with you.  They are all done in the hoop and embroidered.  It is a 10 month class and once all the squares are all done, we put it together. It is going to look so awesome.  This is what the one in the quilt shop looks like, it's by Hoopsisters and called TNT.  Donna, our teacher, is the one that did this.  She has so much talent.  I love her colors she chose. Now if you can picture mine with chocolate background and the other colors are mixed in. I will show you some of my squares soon. The new one I start on Saturday is called Goose Tracks and has much more embroidery.  I chose spring colors for it.  You really need to see them up close to appreciate the detail. Both classes are being taken at Linda's Quilt Shoppe.

This is Goose Tracks - the one I will be starting but different colors:

Well, with that being said, I better go get on my homework.  Lots to stitch before Saturday:)

Stay warm.........

Notecards of Thanks

I have been busy making notecards, just like the title states LOL.  I like to send out notecards with my packages to my customers from Etsy when they purchase a product.  An extra thank you for their business.  And since I am getting ready to load my Etsy store, I figured I'd better get some done.

The first one I want to share is fairly straight forward.  The notecards measure 3x3½".  I used Melon Mambo from SU! and embossed the white layer with my Swiss Dots folder.  I got the crocheted flowers at a local fabric store and put a little gingham behind it.  The sentiment is Watercolor Trio from SU! as well.  Punched out with my oval punch and layered on my scallop oval punch and then pop dots to adhere it. Also, three little pearls were added to the top side.

This next one is using So Saffron and Old Olive.  Not sure why the color of the cardstock on the right side looks washed or darker.  The flower stamp is also from Watercolor Trio and the sentiment is from Silhouette Sentiments (Hostess set) from SU!  I wrapped white satin ribbon around opposite corners and stuck a couple of pearls on the top. The sentiment is punched out with a 3/4" punch and layered on a flower punch from SU! (sorry can't remember the name). Also popped up.  I added stickles to the flower centers for a little bling.

So that's it for today.  If you come back tomorrow, I have a couple more to share with you.  These are fun to do and quick - well, most of the time.  Trying to work with a much smaller area isn't always easy since you don't need as much.
Enjoy your day and go do some crafting today!

A HUGE thank you to all of you who entered and some new followers!  I had a blast checking out some wonderful blogs over the past couple of weeks and discovered some fantastic talent, and some so close to home:) I will definitely be going back to browse them all again.
It was so funny reading the comments where most of them "needed" the password book because they kept losing their sticky's. LOL. I know how you feel.  I was going to add another door prize if I hit 200 and I figure 192 is close enough. I used random.org and the first winner is:

and the second winner is:

Britt from Stitchety-Grub

Both winners have been sent an email.  Thanks for playing everyone.....if there is anything you need or want to order, please send me an email.
I'm off to make my daughter an Egyptian costume for her Girl Guide camp this weekend.    Have a great weekend

Fire Orange tote

I just wanted to let you know that I hadn't forgotten about you.  I am rearranging my craft room AGAIN!  I have lots of projects that I will be working on and needed to get everything cleaned up and organized before I get started.  Just feels so much better:)

Today I wanted to show you a tote that a friend of mine ordered for a friend of hers for her birthday. That was a mouthful.  Warning though, it is very bright. Her friend fell in love with the tropical one I did and said she had to have one.  Wasn't that a nice gift? OK, so put on your sunglasses and check this out!

The front of the tote with the passport pocket embroidered.
A closeup of the embroidery.  I used chocolate brown leather for the straps and the bottom to add a richness and a little bit more durabiliy.
The back showing the large pocket and the rust orange travel strap.
The side view.  This shows the cell phone pocket which is my addition and the smaller pocket on the bottom which cinches tight.  Perfect for a water bottle.
Sorry they are blurry.  But you can see the closeup of the cell phone pocket and my logo on the lower pocket.
This pocket is on the other side. These are her initials in the monogram.  I used leather cording for this as well.
A quick look inside - you can see the key FOB I made to match.
And the other side of the inside with the pocket.

Wendee chose the fabrics and where each one was to be used.  She also chose the monogramming and the Escape embroidery on the passport pocket. One of the advantages of custom design - you choose it all.  I just put it together:)  She loves tropical colors and prints just like I do and was taking this tote with her on her cruise. She should be getting back soon by the way and can't wait to see a picture of her with her tote on the big ship!
I can't wait to do some of these up as diaper bags.  The embroidery ideas I have and the fabrics to choose from are endless.

So that is it for today. Hope you enjoyed see this tote.  Like I said at the beginning, I am going to be starting all my projects for May Days right away.  Both papercrafting and sewing so I hope you will come back and check them all out.
I also will be loading my Etsy store very shortly and will let you know when I do that too.

Enjoy your day and hope the sun is shining like it is here.

Love you much

I can't believe we are almost in the middle of February already.  Boy the days are flying by!

Today is a simple Valentine card.  I've been fighting a cold for almost a week now and not feeling my mojo.

I used a couple of retired Stampin' Up! stamps and designer paper as well.  If you click on the picture, you will hopefully be able to see the red glitter better on the word LOVE.  I made a pop up heart flower on dimensionals.
Gotta get some rest..  Sorry this is short.  Hope you are digging out of all the snow that I know so many of you are getting or got.  Thankfully we have been getting some sunshine and it's slowly melting the white.stuff.

See you tomorrow

Kimono dress

Hi!!  Hope you don't mind that I want to share another little outfit.  It is also from the Amy Butler Little Stitches for Little Ones book.  I love the patterns in this book.  Here it is on display at the quilt shoppe.  I'm not normally one to choose greens of this shade especially, but I love the print on this fabric. Clik on it to get a closer look.
The little colored flowers pop and I think are perfect for this one.  A close up of the front shows the detail collar and bow.
And here on the back you can see the button closure.  Doesn't show well but it is a little silver impressed button.  You can clik on it and maybe see the closeup.
So what do you think?  A perfect little dress for the summer.  And there are lots more projects that I want to try from this awesome book!  Outfits and accessories galore for baby.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you enjoyed another sewing project  I will be starting to plan my sewing projects in baby clothes, purses/totes, lunch bags, altered paper projects..................and so much more.  I have an event coming up in May and I'm really excited.  I need to have lots of schtuff ready.  I'm always happy making new projects:)

Can't Bear it

Hi all ~ Thank you for stopping by today.  Sorry for my few days absent.  My computer has been giving me grief.  Everytime I try to connect to the internet, it times out and then it gets really slow.  Not sure what the issue is but today it's much better.

I want to share another Valentine card with you.  I thought this Verve sentiment was perfect for this little guy.  Actually, my daughter picked it out.  The scallop hearts and oval are nesties and the plain oval is Stampin' Up! The heart border bunch is MS.   I added a little hearts charm to the velvet ribbon.  I used my new embossing folder with tulips from Stampin' Up!  I love it and know I will be using this one alot.
Here is a closeup of the red glittered heart, glitter also from Stampin' Up!  He's so adorable. And just a quick shot of the inside:

A couple of different heart punches were used here.
Well that's it for today. We got a major dump of snow on Sunday.  I'm thinking at least a foot fell in just 8 hours and boy, it was heavy.  Some parts were white out when we were out driving. Yet on Saturday, my daughter was wearing capris and sandals. It was gorgeous.  I really hope the sun will come out and melt it all away.  I'm so ready for spring to come.
Have a great day :)

Kimono with Koi

So I am here to show you a little Amy Butler kimono I did for the quilt shoppe.  Here it is on display at the store.  Do you see what is missing that was mentioned in the title today?  You will see it in the following photos.  You can clik the photos to get the full view.

Here it is on the inside with the side tie undone.  The little pants actually look like shorts they way they are displayed on this hanger.
Here is a better photo where you can see the pants.  Cute huh??
See? I decided to take it back home and add some embroidery to the front.  I thought this little koi was perfect.  It looked so perfect on there.
Here he is real close.  Bubbles and all.  LOL.  This was a real fun outfit to put together and I am definitely going to do some more of these for my next event in a few months.  This outfit can also be done with shorts and short sleeve wrap.  Super cute for those warmer months.    I need to start building up stock and I want to have lots to show and no last minute rushes.
Gotta get my butt in gear.  Shaelyn and I are going to be doing some running around today and maybe looking at some more new fabrics:)   It's supposed to be sunny and warm in the pluses:) yeah!!

Enjoy your Friday!

I love you Hedgehog

Another simple Valentine card.  These Penny Black hedgehogs are adorable.  Colored with copics and used my nesties.  The white layer on the Pretty in Pink was embossed with the cuttlebug folder Swiss dots (I think it is called)..
The tag that I received from my secret sister Heidi last year was stamped and embossed with clear.  To tie the ribbon, I used my Bow Easy.

Not sure if you can see, but I put a little bit of sticles on the roses.
That's it for today folks. Tomorrow I have a "koi" baby outfit to show you.
Hope you get the chance to stop in and check it out.

Hope all my friends in blogland that are in the US are safe with the snow storm you are getting now.  I have to say we are really lucky with our "balmy' weather in the pluses and I'm liking it!  Supposed to be here for a few days at least:)
So until tomorrow, enjoy your day.

Heart Strings

Today's card was a fold I have seen on the internet quite a bit, but I failed to record the measurements.  My kids were busy taking turns on the computer and of course, Mom can wait cause she gets to stay up later. That's why I'm always up late Heidi:)  Waitin' for my turn.

So I tried to do it on my own - not that difficult really.  It stands up and that's what counts.

The heart was covered with tinted Versamark and embossed with clear.

The side view. You can see that it leans back quite a bit (not sure if it is supposed to or not) but when you look at the whole front, I think it looks ok.

So that's my Valentine card for today.  I'm getting a few piled up which is awesome.  Need to get some in the mail soon.
I wanted to say thanks to all the bloggers who are visiting my blog because of OWOH and otherwise.  I really appreciate all your sweet comments.............and even some new followers:)  So appreciated.  I'm having a blast checking all the blogs out.  Man, so much different creativity out there.  It really is neat to check out.  If you want to check out some neat blogs, clik the OWOH label on my sidebar or here to go directly to the list. You could join in too if you like but you need to be an active blogger.
I better get busy.  More to do and more blogs to check out.

Snuggle Bunny

It was a long day yesterday so I struggled to get a card ready.  I got half way and then didn't know what to do with it to finish it off.  Anyway, I pulled it off and think it turned out pretty cute.  Anything with bunnies is cute right?
I got this stamp set from a friend and don't now the name of it.  Used my favorite Big Shot die the Top Note and layered it.  My nesties for the heart and a little punch for the little hearts.

White flock is added to their little tails and stickles to the hearts.

Keeping it short and sweet and I have a busy day.  And it is freezing here again and staying below 0!  It even tried to snow. I so can't wait for spring.

Have a fantastic day and stay warm wherever you are.
