Thinking of you

Hello................glad you popped in. 

It has been raining so much here.  Some days of sunshine and it is warm when it shines. But I don't like this much rain.  Supposed to be nice this weekend so let's cross our fingers :)

Today I am going to share a card that was done but I forgot to share it with you.  I like to have "thinking of you" cards on hand to send out whenever I want to surprise someone.  I don't send them as often as I should, but plan on making lots more and sending lots more.

This stamp set is an oldie from Flourishes.  I have had it for awhile but not used it much.  This image along with the embossing folder has always reminded me of European buildings for some reason.  Maybe the stucco look and the shape of the window.  Not sure, but that's what I was going with.  Do you see that too?

Anyway, I stamped the shape of the window and cut it out.  Then did the same with the sad lady, even around her fingertips.  The little birdie is holding a cute love letter and was also cut out. Her shirt was also paper pieced.

The coloring was done with pencil crayons and gamsol.  Haven't used it in a long while so decided to try it. 

Now to get a few more of these made up.  I want to have a stash of cards, all occasions, ready to be used.  Now is the time the kids start going to birthday parties.  Not so much my boys (cause that ain't cool), but definitely my daughter. She's already gone to one last week and has another to go to in a week.  I always make the gift too so need to be prepped in plenty of time.  I make the girls the hooded beach towels this time of year with a journal and then a few other little things my daughter picks out. They always love the towels - yay!!

Well off I go, get my next sewing project done.  Nearly there and then some more cards.

I can't believe we are almost in the middle of February already.  Boy the days are flying by!

Today is a simple Valentine card.  I've been fighting a cold for almost a week now and not feeling my mojo.  

I used a couple of retired Stampin' Up! stamps and designer paper as well.  If you click on the picture, you will hopefully be able to see the red glitter better on the word LOVE.  I made a pop up heart flower on dimensionals.

Gotta get some rest..  Sorry this is short.  Hope you are digging out of all the snow that I know so many of you are getting or got.  Thankfully we have been getting some sunshine and it's slowly melting the white.stuff.

I love you Hedgehog

Another simple Valentine card.  These Penny Black hedgehogs are adorable.  Colored with copics and used my nesties.  The white layer on the Pretty in Pink was embossed with the cuttlebug folder Swiss dots (I think it is called)..

The tag that I received from my secret sister Heidi last year was stamped and embossed with clear.  To tie the ribbon, I used my Bow Easy. 

Not sure if you can see, but I put a little bit of sticles on the roses.

Heart Strings

Today's card was a fold I have seen on the internet quite a bit, but I failed to record the measurements.  My kids were busy taking turns on the computer and of course, Mom can wait cause she gets to stay up later. That's why I'm always up late Heidi:)  Waitin' for my turn.

So I tried to do it on my own - not that difficult really.  It stands up and that's what counts.

The heart was covered with tinted Versamark and embossed with clear.

 

The side view. You can see that it leans back quite a bit (not sure if it is supposed to or not) but when you look at the whole front, I think it looks ok.

So that's my Valentine card for today.  I'm getting a few piled up which is awesome.  Need to get some in the mail soon.

Little Angel

Almost a month ago, my dad called to tell us that their 2 yr old puppy was playing outside and was playing with a bee when she got stung in the esophagus.  Her esophagus was swelling shut and then she started having other problems.  Dad took her to the vet and that afternoon, she died in his arms. It was devastating for them.

They got a new puppy just a couple of days ago.  She sounds like a real cutie.  She is 9 weeks old, her name is Misty, and a Yorkie Shih Tzu cross.  She apparently only stands about 5" tall and is black and white but they can see the brown coming through. I haven't seen her yet, but I did make her a little fleece coat to wear while it is cold outside. We wanted to do one for christmas, but since she needed it now, I made a real quick one and told dad that she will get her real nice one with her other gifts.

 I don't normally make cards for getting a new puppy, but sine they lost their last one Cuddles so suddenly, I wanted to cheer them up. I know just having Misty around keeping them busy will help a lot.

Keep in Touch

 Hey friends,  got my computer back late yesterday afternoon and didn't get it set up til late.  So that should take care of everything.  Crossing my fingers. 

Today I wanted to share with you another of the "black cat" cards.  Fairly simple.  A little bit of stickles in the center of the flowers using the Elegant Bouquet embossing folder from Stampin' Up!  Layered on Kiwi Kiss with Whisper White.

Ok, so remember my Hibiscus tote I showed you.  Another girlfriend of mine ordered two of them.  I had these fabrics in my collection and actually was going to make myself one.  Once she saw them, she loved them so much and ordered two.  Great minds think alike:) 

 

They are exactly the same except on is blue handle and the other is brown. I'm going to go get me some more of these fabrics before they are gone.  I still love them and want one for me:)  The Texture Magic is the product used on the bottom brown panel. So much fun to use.

Cat's Meow

So yesterday I shared with you the first of the "black cat" cards my girlfriend ordered.  And here is another one.  This color combo is awesome, I really like it. 

I used some punches and the Square Lattice embossing folder from Stampin' Up! I love that one. The pink DSP is a retired SU paper.

Meowy Christmas and Lazy Girl

Happy Monday everyone! Feels good being able to post on here again.  Computer issues for the past month and still not done.  Once more in the shop and that should be it.  So today, I wanted to share a couple things with you.

I absolutely adore this little kitten.  A friend asked me to make her some cards for all occasions but they all have to have a black cat on them.  It was a challenge.  I have tons of cat stamps, but don't like coloring with blacks.  I find it difficult to make them look nice.  But this little one is sooo cute.

  Here is the closeup of the fluff I put on the hat.  Did fluff well though. 

Now for the second item.  Even though my computer has been unavailable at times for the past month, I have kept very busy with all projects.  My craft fair is here in a couple of weeks and I was also doing some sewing for the new Linda's Quilt Shoppe second location.

 

I don't care for the fabric colors, but I love the pattern. Here is the other side:

Check out all the pockets!  One on the front, on the back and the inside has them all around the base.  It's got room for lots of stuff.

Hello - sorry for the late post today.  Been busy running around and now I have to go and prep for a girlfriend to come over and play:)  I didn't want to break my blogging roll so I'm here:)

I'm showing you a card today that was for my hubby's co-worker.  He loves to golf so this is perfect. I also made him a golf towel and embroidered his nickname on it.

 

Isn't he cute?  I just love this little guy.  And it looks like he is actually looking at his shot and yelling Fore!

We gave one of my son's teacher a golf towel last year for a gift and he said the next time he went out golfing, he got his first hole-in-one!  So hoping they bring them luck:)

Sorry it is short, but I have to get ready.  I will show you the purse my daughter made tomorrow - I promise.  See you then.

Yes I am back.  I never meant for it to be this long though.  After May Days so much happened and I was only going to take a few days rest since I was so exhausted. 

Well, besides filling baby outfit orders, and end of the year projects for teachers, our computer got a really bad Trojan infection.  I couldn't even get on to my blog for a good two weeks.  It kept telling me that Blogger had an expired certificate.  Anyway, it is all fixed and rolling again.

I will be showing you lots of stuff that I have been doing and planning.  My next event isn't until mid September so I plan on building up stock and taking my time at it. 

Also hopefully planning a couple of holidays in there and possibly moving.  That's if all goes as planned LOL.

So, the first thing I wanted to share with you are some wedding cards. A friend asked me to do up an order of wedding cards for her.  She needed 6 just for June! 

This is the first one:

Showing you two pictures so you can see the shimmer cardstock and the glitter on the bride's dress.  For a fairly simple card, I really like how this turned out.

Matching card colors with baby outfit

Hope you all had a happy Mother's Day.  Mine was spent lazing and hanging out in my craft room.  Exactly what I love to do.  I managed to get two sundress outfits done, two wonder onesies done and some cards.

This card was for the gal that bought the pink/kiwi sundress set.  She wanted a card to match.  I used Melon Mambo and Kiwi Kiss.  I also made a cute little headband that matched the outfit and just happen to have a bright pink fabric flower to add.  A little blurry - sorry, but it looked so perfect with the outfit.

I wanted to share something with you too.  When I sell my crafts at craft fairs and on my Etsy, I always want it to look professional and thoughtfully put together.  So for my cards, I decided to have some card labels done with my contact info on them.
Michelle Laycock is phenomenal when it comes to doing this.  She helps with the design concept when you don't know what to do.  I kind of had an idea but Michelle spiced it up for me. 

So this round one is for the back of my cards to seal the wrapper.

Isn't it awesome?  I love the look of it.  It really looks professional and clean and also protects the cards.

Class pictures

Been busy doing classes and prepping for May Days still.  I have a couple of pictures to show you from the OSW class I did and the kids Mother's day altered frame.
The OSW class was on Friday night.  It was a long night.  I will remember to do these ones on the weekend since they take a little longer. I was so exhausted.  This is the box that we also did to hold all 9 cards and envelopes:

The box holds them nicely and it closes with velcro.

The class on Sunday was a kids class for altering a wooden frame for Mothers' Day.  It was a lot of fun and although there was only two kids, with one being my daughter Shaelyn, it was the perfect length of time and they didn't poop out.  Here is the two of them with their frames.  They did a great job!  Shaelyn did hers for grandma instead of me ;)

I love these combos!!

Hello - it's been a busy day and I'm going to relax and go do some crafting now.  I wanted to share with you a couple of simple cards really.  I love these color combos!

This one is Pretty in Pink and Pacific Point.  And yes I added some bling to the flowers.

And this one is Pretty in Pink with Kiwi Kiss. 

Both use Upsy Daisy and Best Yet stamp sets and I used my Top Note die for the Big Shot. A little bit of sponging on the edges and the sentiment is popped up on dimensionals.
