My first quilt...........

I want to share this with you today.  It is my first ever flannel quilt. And boy is it warm and with a little bit of weight too.  Not too much of course.  It wasn't difficult but I had to number the strips after they were together in sections.  When I first put it together, it was a little mixed up and the pattern didn't flow, so I learnt quickly to keep the strips in order so putting it together will be a snap.

 

I decided to add an embroidery design to the quilt just for fun since I LOVE to embroider.  It's a little possum from a new set of designs I got.  Just so adorable and they have Mylar under the flower part to make it sparkly.  Mylar is a cellophane type of thing used for this.  Here you can maybe see it better:

 

Can you see the little bit of sparkle coming through on the petals?  Looks so good in real.  I have a few of these kinds of designs that use Mylar and it really adds so much. I didn't get my other pictures loaded so that is why I'm sharing the quilt today.  

My mom just got home from the hospital and my uncle is in critical condition after suffering a major heart attack, second one in a few months but the first was a minor heart attack.  He had 99% blockage and they said they would have done open heart surgery had there been a surgeon there at the time. Hoping he pulls through and can go home soon.

So..........needless to say, I have been a little distracted the last couple of days and  I will get them uploaded soon.  Need to get my house caught up and put away the Christmas decor now, clean and organize my craft room and play for the next few days I have off from work.  Itching to create something and got to get ready for OWOH 2011 at the end of the month - check my sidebar to see what it is:)

Matching card colors with baby outfit

Hope you all had a happy Mother's Day.  Mine was spent lazing and hanging out in my craft room.  Exactly what I love to do.  I managed to get two sundress outfits done, two wonder onesies done and some cards.

This card was for the gal that bought the pink/kiwi sundress set.  She wanted a card to match.  I used Melon Mambo and Kiwi Kiss.  I also made a cute little headband that matched the outfit and just happen to have a bright pink fabric flower to add.  A little blurry - sorry, but it looked so perfect with the outfit.

I wanted to share something with you too.  When I sell my crafts at craft fairs and on my Etsy, I always want it to look professional and thoughtfully put together.  So for my cards, I decided to have some card labels done with my contact info on them.
Michelle Laycock is phenomenal when it comes to doing this.  She helps with the design concept when you don't know what to do.  I kind of had an idea but Michelle spiced it up for me. 

So this round one is for the back of my cards to seal the wrapper.

Isn't it awesome?  I love the look of it.  It really looks professional and clean and also protects the cards.

Busy, busy, busy...............

What a beautiful day it was today!  I got a little fresh air today, but honestly I have been in my craft room most of the time.  Other than getting the kids from school, that's all I have been doing.

The Quigley Craft fair is here in less than a week, so I am crunching down.  I think it is going to be awesome though.  I just hope a ton of people show up.  So if you are in the area on Saturday, drop in.  We have a great variety of crafters going to be there.  It is from 10-4 on April 24th.

This is one thing I have been working on.  Baby clothes.  They are one of my favorite items to sew.  They are so adorable.  I showed my husband and asked him if it makes him want to have another - he had the strangest look on his face.  I think I scared him.  It sure does for me.  I loved the baby stage.  So here it is:

Isn't it adorable?  The Mary Jane shoes are my favorite.  This dress will fit a newborn to 3 months.  The bodice is fully lined with a contrast fabric.  The second photo shows the scalloop decorative stitch I did for the hem.  I thought it would look nicer than just the ordinary hem and add some contrast color.  The shoes tie to the side with a ribbon and are lined with a soft flannel.

This outfit didn't even make it to the craft fair and it already sold.  I had to run to the fabric store and took it with me to match up with something and there was a pregnant lady there due at the end of June.  She wanted to purchase it right there.  I invited her to the craft fair on Saturday - I plan on having a ton more of different colors and styles.  Wonder if she knows already that she is having a girl:)

Good evening!!!

Since I got here a little later than planned, I am going to do my best to keep this short(er).  LOL.

To start, I'm a little down.  Today was my birthday.  I don't mind telling you that I am 21 with 25 anniversaries (lol). You do the math:)  I'm upset cause the birthday presents that I ordered for myself didn't come today either.  I've been waiting it seems forever, but I'm crossing my fingers that they will be here at least by Friday so I can play in my studio this weekend.  Now I got that out of the way, let's get on with it.

As promised, my little model is here..... or her pictures are.  She dressed up just for me and I only have to pay her a "bubba" and a jar of peas for letting me take her picture.  Not tooo bad, huh.
So I got this pattern for Beanie Bibs off the internet.  They are adorable little bibs for holding the beanie or soother.  Top side is cotton, with a layer of batting and flannel underside.  They were great for catching drools too when teething.
Anyway, here is Presley.  She is 5 months old and a doll.  She is such a good baby and sleeps through the night from day one.  WOW!  So here, check it out:  The first one is the two I made, and I have more to do still. I'm thinking of doing some with embroidery pictures and little sayings like "spit happens", etc.

Isn't she a doll.  She was so co-operative .  You get the idea and you can see both the front and back, as well as the snap that holds the soother.  Pretty handy.  Thanks Presley..... and mom!!!

So since I am showing you baby items, which happens to be a favorite of mine to make, whether it be clothes or accessories, here is one more item I made a while ago.  I plan on making some more of these for sure with matching shoes. Keep in mind this was my first one and before I got my embroidery machine.

Can you get how the whole little outfit goes together with snaps, on the bottoms section, under the arms and down the front.  You don't need to pull this one over their heads.  Just lay them on top and snap up.  I have lots of ideas for this one, especially the summer.

I hope you don't mind me sharing all these with you.  Let me know what you think. Hoping this post goes up on time before midnight so it posts on Wed.  Still getting used to that too.  Guess it wasn't all that short either.
