Snowflake bear

So with the snowfall we had a couple of days ago, more like a blizzard without the wind, my project is totally suitable for this time of year.
Bunting bags are perfect to keep baby warm when it is cold and nasty outside.  Little hands stay warm and covers can be folded back as well. Unzip easily while indoors and keeps them cozy with lots of movement too.

This one is for a baby girl that is about 18-21 lbs and 27-28" in length. It's a size Medium. The fleece print is pink with baby blue snowflakes and white polar bear cubs on it.  So here is the embroidery design I chose to add and I think is perfect for this:

Isn't she adorable.  I thought it totally suited the print and had to use it.

So that's it for today.  If you are interested in ordering a bunting bag for baby boy or girl, send me an email.

Thanks for stopping in and hope your weekend was productive:)

Topsy Towels

Hello friend!!!  Today I am wanting to show you something really neat that I did for the Christmas craft fairs in December.

These are decorative towels to hang on your oven or handle of a cupboard or anywhere you have a handle for them to hang.  The printed cotton on top matches the embroidery design that I have put on to bottoms.  Here is a few more I did.

This gingerbread is one of my favorites. Just love that saying with the cute little gingerbread guy.  I did another one that was baby blues snowflakes with touch of silver and then embroidered snowflakes with Mylar on the bottom.  Very pretty - sorry I can't show you since they all sold. Will have to do some more of those ones.

I will be working on some now for spring/summer.  They will be so much fun and full of color.

Interested in any of these or when I get my new ones done, send me an email.

Thanks for stopping in.  Hope you enjoyed my creations for today.=:)

'Tater Bakers

That's right - these are 'Tater Bakers.  I made up a bunch of these for the last craft fair and didn't get a chance to show you.
You can use these for Corn on the Cob, baked potatoes, tortillas and I think, even buns.  Just pop the potatoes in, set the microwave according to the directions, and they come out really tender and fluffy in just minutes..

Here is a closeup of a couple of the different ones. This one is bright and cheery.

I love this print ~
(not sure why so dark)

I wanted to get a closeup of the embroidery/applique so you can see it.
They sold pretty good at the craft fair.  If you are interested, just send me an email to rarinstamp@shaw.ca. They have the directions as well included so you can start using it right away:)  The rooster one is sold ~ top picture, bottom centre.  I wanted to show  you the different prints I have right now. I will be definitely doing some more of these so watch here or my Etsy store which should be loaded very soon.

Thanks for stopping by today

Secret Sister gifts I can share now

For the past 4+ years, I have been involved in Secret Sister swaps with the same group of gals from all over the US.  We have all become very close and some are like bestest friends. Every year before Christmas we do one called the 15 Days of Christmas where we send 15 gifts to one SS and they also send to one and so on.  Anyway, I always like to make a personalized stocking for my SS and fill it as much as I can with the gifts I have purchased.  Now that our swap is over, I can share a few of the gifts that I made for her.

So here is the stocking personalized with her name.  And so you can see the design better, a close-up for you.

It was hard to get a bright shot of the dove with you being able to still see it properly.  I pulled the colors from the fabric and the feathers actually look layered like feathers.  This design is a Sue Box Creation available here.  Her designs are beautiful so be sure to browse around.
I also embroidered her a tea towel and dish cloth for using during the holidays or even just display.

Aren't they the cutest little guys.  I am so hooked on embroidery and personalization.

This little guy is one of my favorites.

And they are pretty cute too.

I especially wanted Cindy (my SS) to have her very own personalized stocking and she loved them and that's what counts:)  Glad you liked them Cindy {hugs}.
Since I wasn't able to "play" much after Christmas, I will be sharing projects that I did for the craft fair and before Christmas.  I hope to be playing this weekend or maybe today since it is my day off:)
Have fun today!

Sweet Angel

Another gift card holder for the quilt shoppe.  A sweet angel from the $1.50 bin at M's.  I love angels and thought she would look so cute on the front of one of these.  Here is a closeup:

See the sparkly wings and halo? And the inside:

I have to say I am really happy. I went in to the store the other day and they are all sold out.  Already.  Need to get busy and make some more - in my spare time.  LOL
I survived my first craft fair of the season at my daughters' school on the 20th.  Sold some things and got lots of orders too which I have been trying to get filled. We were busy from start to finish even though it was cold and snowing.  My cousin even dropped in from Vancouver with her family and it was so awesome to see her:)  Obviously she didn't come up to only see me, but she did stop in.

This past week has been hard.  I did something I have never done before nor would I even consider doing it.  I pulled myself out of the craft fair this past Saturday.  I was fighting migraine all week and stressing cause everything I tried to do wasn't turning out the way I wanted or I was making mistakes.  I didn't feel I would be ok at the craft fair so I opted to not go.  I felt so much better too.  I am, however, getting ready now for the next one on the 4th of December.  SO if you are in the area, drop in to Rutland Centennial Hall.  Everything is hand-crafted. Should be lots of fun and busy I hope.  Let's just hope that all my projects don't mess with me this week. LOL
I should run and get busy - hope to see you at the fair.  And thanks for stopping by...........I missed ya'll.

Little Miss Sunshine

Isn't this adorable?!  I had so much fun making this little set.  It is sized 6-12 months and is 3 pieces - sun bonnet, dress and bloomers.  Three different cotton prints were used and of course, Texture Magic where you can see I used it on this beautiful hibiscus bag.

This is a closeup of the halter top part that was textured.  See the stitching I used?  A built-in with little flowers to show off once it shrinks.

Here is the back - fully lined and has elastic around the back to keep in place.  A closeup:

and the sun bonnet:

This is actually the back, but I wanted you to see the bow and the texture.  I used the same built-in stitch.

And here it is all together.  Sorry about the coloring - not sure why it is like that.  You can see the overall prints though - adorable!  Wish my daughter was this small sometimes so she can model it for me:)  My husband just shakes his head - LOL.  He said the closest I will get is making the baby clothes so stop wishing.  Guess I will have to just get a mannequin.
You can purchase the pattern and Texture Magic here.  Both my Hibiscus bag and this little outfit were on display at Father Pandosy's farm Quilt Show celebrating their150th birthday.

If you are wanting one, send me an email.  I do custom orders as well.  I'm hoping to get a few more done for the craft fair.  I had so much fun putting this one together.

Thanks for dropping by and enjoy your weekend!

Summertime Splendor

I still don't have the My Digital Studio from Stampin' Up!  I will one day, but I want to get my own computer and my Dreamscape studio all set up first then I won't be sharing the computer with the kids.  But that doesn't mean I can't use some of the downloads for this awesome program.
I saw on many blogs actually, the Summertime Splendor designer paper used on simple cards with just a few embellishments.  I had to, of course, check this out.
So here is the stationary set I came up with.

And they were all pretty simple.  The layering and embellishments took a little time but I like the result considering all the backgrounds are printed from my printer and just cut down to size.
From the Heart
Thinking of You
Thanks so Much
With Sympathy
and Birthday Wishes.

They all use the Scallop Oval punch and oval punch.  I glittered the butterflies from the Embosslits for all the cards and the scallop trim border punch on the cardstock base.  You can see they printed up really well and know I will be using these a lot now that it is saved on my computer.  That's the cool thing - it's there whenever I need it.
These would make awesome gifts for moms, grandmas, sisters, aunts - will have some of these for sure at the craft fair too:)  If you are interested in any My Digital Studio products or Stampin' Up! products, call or email me.
Thanks for dropping in and enjoy your day!!

Hibiscus meets Texture Magic

Today I want to share with you a new pattern and product. Isn't it gorgeous!! I love it and the fabric is definitely one of my favorite tropical prints. It is a drawstring bag with beads on the ribbons as accents. Here is the inside.

Next time I will add some pockets. It is pretty roomy inside but pockets are always a great addition. This is also the small version. The bottom is what I especially wanted you to notice. It is done using a product called Texture Magic. You sew it on the wrong side of the fabric you want to texture, and use steam to make it shrink down and it will form this really cool effect. Take a look at this.

Neat huh? This is the before and after below;

and here is the comparison close up of the two fabrics:

I love the result and will be definitely doing some more of these. The Texture Magic isn't cheap though. So you really have to plan on what you are making with the piece before you start cutting. I got this bag and an infants outfit with the piece I had. It shrinks 30% down from original size. You stitch any pattern you like or just stipple. I did diamond shapes that were an inch apart on this bag. It was a quick bag to sew up too. The "texture" took the longest.  Both the Texture Magic and pattern I got here.
Will be definitely doing some of these up for the craft fair and a few more for me and my daughter and maybe some gifts:)
Thanks for dropping in ..........really appreciate it. Hope you come back tomorrow. Some My Digital Studio stuff to share with you.

Does this diaper make my butt look big????

I just love that saying.............so cute.  Which leads me to my next baby/infant outfit I finished a few days ago.  This is the 2 pieces of a 3 piece set.

Hard to tell in the picture, but it is a skort and tank top.  This one is 12 months size.  This is the skort close-up - maybe you can see the two little pockets on the front.

And the tank top.  The embroidery was done on a piece of cotton then I cut it with a die in my Big Shot.  I didn't like how the design and especially the wording were turning out on the small rib (nap) of the tank top, so I opted to do it this way.  I think it still works although I would have rather it be right on the tank top.

I satin stitched around the edge of the embroidery panel piece with embroidery thread.  Hard to see, but here is a close up of the design.

Sweet huh?? I just love these cute sayings.  And I have more of them to use so you'll have to come back and see.  And lastly, the third piece of the outfit is the visor.

Yes it is a little different than my last one here but I wanted the visor part to shade the child's face really well.  It is totally adjustable the same way with velcro and a d-ring.

So tell me what you think.  I had a lot of fun doing this one.  I love doing baby outfits and using spring/summer fabrics and of course, the embroidery is a bonus for me!!

See you tomorrow!!!!
