Zebra Eyes revealed

I have been wanting to share this with you since I posted the sneak peek a while ago.  I lent it to my girlfriend who wanted to show it to some gals at work.  I got it back from her and then lost my camera, then had no internet, so now I going to share it today - finally!

I've said in the past that I am loving embroidery.  I am addicted big time - just as much as sewing.  Being able to personalize with embroidery now for the special person or the embroidery to match the fabric - it's easy now.

This was a design that I got and I knew what I wanted to do with it immediately and where the fabric was that I needed to get.  So I went to Linda's Quilt Shoppe, got the fabric and went to work on this tote bag.

Here is the front of it.  Fairly plain so I added the rust/coffee color to help "pop" the color from the fabric.

I also added some pockets to both sides of the inside of the tote, since it didn't call for any.  Pockets are important to me and I think most gals like to have them. Right?

I used the main fabric for the pockets and kept the rust/coffee color for the inside.

Here is the top closure.  I love the idea of  having the zipper flat like this.  Some of my friends were teasing me that it wasn't finished because the zipper was still hanging out.  This way though, the zipper extends past the tote top and doesn't curl at the ends being in the side seams.  Here is another view:

You can see how the ends of the zipper were finished.  A piece of  fabric holds on to each end.
I hope you liked my Zebra eyes tote.  I have a few more ideas that I will be trying to do as well.  Do you all know who Maxine and friends is? The crabby old lady that always has something sarcastic to say?  I love her and will be sharing some designs with her and her friends as well.  Plus my quilt blocks that I am working on are coming along great so need to show you those too.

Stop back again soon and hope your weekend is creative.  So far, mine is :)

Lazy Girl Design

So this purse is a made from a pattern called Claire from Lazy Girl Designs. You can purchase this pattern from Linda's Quilt Shoppe.  I typically wouldn't choose these colors but these fabrics are actually used for the picture on the pattern.  Awesome instructions, really easy to follow and goes together quite quickly.  And made from fat quarters.  The black and white print is a pocket ~

and the black and white print here is a pocket as well on the back side or other front:)
And to show you how many pockets are inside, look here:

The whole inside bottom is wrapped with pockets!  Really handy.

So if you want to try out a new pattern, and easy to follow, check this one out.  It's on display at the McCurdy Corner location.

So just to clarify as well, you've heard me mention Linda's Quilt Shoppe quite a bit in my posts.  I am not employed nor do I gain anything for mentioning them on my blog.  I just love to shop at Linda's for quality cottons and patterns, the staff is awesome and so knowledgeable and it is really a fun place to visit and check out the quilts and projects that are there.  I even take classes there on occasion.  the best part is I have met some awesome and so talented ladies.  Linda did ask me to do some projects for the store and honestly, I seldom turn down sewing projects LOL.  So if you get the chance, drop in and say hi.

Thanks for droppin by and get creative.

Meowy Christmas and Lazy Girl

Happy Monday everyone! Feels good being able to post on here again.  Computer issues for the past month and still not done.  Once more in the shop and that should be it.  So today, I wanted to share a couple things with you.

I absolutely adore this little kitten.  A friend asked me to make her some cards for all occasions but they all have to have a black cat on them.  It was a challenge.  I have tons of cat stamps, but don't like coloring with blacks.  I find it difficult to make them look nice.  But this little one is sooo cute.

Here is the closeup of the fluff I put on the hat.  Did fluff well though.

Now for the second item.  Even though my computer has been unavailable at times for the past month, I have kept very busy with all projects.  My craft fair is here in a couple of weeks and I was also doing some sewing for the new Linda's Quilt Shoppe second location.

I don't care for the fabric colors, but I love the pattern. Here is the other side:

And the inside:

Check out all the pockets!  One on the front, on the back and the inside has them all around the base.  It's got room for lots of stuff.

That's it for today.  Hope I see you hear tomorrow.  I have so much to show you now.  Crossing my fingers the computer comes back 100% today.
See you then.

Tropical Tote for Teacher

This was the tote I did for my daughter's teacher.  She loves tropical as much as me and purses too.  It was perfect size for summer wear or beach and as well to hold her other gifts.

I added a pocket to the inside and did a magnetic closure to the top.  Next time I will add purse feet to the bottom to help protect and keep it clean, plus it looks much more finished.  The handles are chocolate brown and braided and attached to a brown wooden ring.  I just love the color combo of this decor fabric.  These are the colors I am going to have in my studio when my husband builds it for me:)

And again, my logo done in colors to match the purse.

And to make it look all professional and pretty like, I put all the gifts in the purse and wrapped it in cellophane.  I think it looks awesome.

You can see some of the other goodies in there but you will have to come back to see what they actually are.
I have to say that I was so happy when Shaelyn gave this gift to her teacher.  The look on her face, she had tears, and was just looking at me and shaking her head.  She knows that I can't buy, and have to make everything.  I wanted to do a little extra for her as well and I knew she would like the purse and colors.  She is one of the best teachers we have ever had and my son had her 5 years ago.  We were lucky to get her again.  Next year, we could also get her or her husband.  Either one is awesome.
So if you can, come and visit again soon to see what the gifts were inside.

Enjoy your day!!!!!
